I’m Jack — a curious person with a passion for tech and media, along with a whole range of interests that keep life interesting. This blog is my little experiment: a space where I can share whatever happens to capture my curiosity, from homelab misadventures to books, gaming, music, travel and whatever else I happen to be into at the time.
If something catches my attention, there’s a good chance it’ll end up here.
Why start a blog? I’ve always found value in writing things down — whether that’s documenting how I solved a frustrating technical problem, keeping track of my hobbies, or simply organising my thoughts. Over time, I’d like Life of J to become both a useful resource for other people and a personal archive that I can look back on.
As for what you’ll find here, it’s deliberately a bit of a mix. Some posts are deep dives into my homelab, self-hosting and whatever bit of technology I’m currently tinkering with. Others are about games, LEGO, books, music, collecting, travel or the occasional personal reflection.
More recently, I’ve also started documenting something much bigger: writing my first novel, The Ashes of Fellwatch, and everything that comes with trying to turn an idea into an actual finished book.
Really, Life of J is a digital notepad for whatever I’m working on, thinking about or enjoying at the time.
